After graduated in 1951,Panton worked at the architectural practice of Arne Jacobsen, another Danish architect and furniture designer, then started his own design and architectural office. 1960 Panton was the designer of the very first single-form injection-moulded plastic chair. This Stacking chair or S chair, which is made of rigid expanded plastic and has a lacquered surface, would become his most famous and mass-produced design.
As amazing as modern sculpture, this classic piece is appropriately durable and easy to clean in cafés or restaurants, and is comfortable enough to use as an occasional chair in an office or residence.
